Obituary of Euclide Brideau

The passing of Euclide Joseph Brideau of Durham Bridge, NB, husband of Brenda (Arseneault) Brideau, occurred on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born on July 6, 1946 in Rivière-Du-Portage, NB he was a son of the late Augustin and Sarah (Doiron) Brideau. Euclide worked as a truck driver for Caldwell & Ross, Diamond Construction and retired in 2012 from Hazen Thomas & Sons Ltd. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 42 years, Euclide is survived by his son, Jean-Charles “JC” Brideau (Samantha Clark-Brideau); granddaughters, Veronica Price-Brideau and Elena Brideau; brother, Guilmond Brideau (Philomène); sisters, Yvette Carten, Delisca Prince (Daryl), Delores Haché (Emile) and Bernita Brideau-Waite (Paul); brothers-in-law, Gérard Arseneault (Georgine-Mallais), Jacques Arseneault (Kim) and Carl Donaher; sisters-in-law, Denise Arseneault-Shapter (Rev. Ian Shapter), Lynda Upshaw (Douglas), Angela Estey-Nash (Carl), Jacynthe-Mina Murray (Wayne) and Rosemonde Burns (Frederick); several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Euclide was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Verna Donaher. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from Our Lady of Fatima Parish on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dr. Michael McGowan as celebrant. Pallbearers are Jason Arseneault, Mickeal Arseneault, David Arthurs, Augustine Brideau, Chad Clark and Joseph Upshaw. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to New Brunswick Lung Association, Canadian Liver Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank Dr. Debra Gowan, Palliative Care, Dr. Raza, Oncology Department and the nursing staff of Pediatrics, 3 East and Palliative Care.
