Obituary of Dawn Weston

The passing of Dawn Emerentienne “Dutch” Weston of Fredericton, NB, wife of Harold Weston occurred on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 28, 1926 in Tracadie, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fabien and Cecilia (Doirion) Basque. Dawn had many interests in her life, but her greatest pride and joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and helping those she loved. Dawn and her husband were active members of the Marysville United Church Couples Club from 1952-1961. She and Harold began square dancing in 1972 and shortly thereafter they also learned round dancing. They were Co-Presidents of the Canadian Square and Round Dance Society from 1980-1990. They continued dancing until 2009. Dawn and Harold also enjoyed camping and were active members of the Twin Seas Caravan Club for many years. Dawn was a beautiful, loving, resourceful and proud woman, both inside and out, and remained so until the end. In addition to her husband, Dawn is survived by her daughter, Lynn Weston of Fredericton, NB; son, Lyle Weston (Mary) of Moncton, NB and their children, Jarrett, Lindsay and Emily; siblings, Obeline Benoit of Fredericton, NB, Alice Basque of Tracadie, NB, Jeannette Richard (Côme) of St. Pons, NB, Jeannine Bouchard (Roland) of Dalhousie, NB, Blanche MacPherson (Kent) of Moncton, NB and Paul-Emile Basque of Tracadie, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Celina MacGloin, Cecile White and Suzanne Stewart; brothers, Guillaume, Arthur, Fabien and Herman Basque. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 2-5 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Marysville United Church on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 1 pm with Rev. David Brewer officiating. Interment will take place in Byno Cemetery, Lakeville Corner, NB.
