Obituary of John Wilson Bamford

John Wilson Bamford, age 81, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 12, 1943, in Doaktown, New Brunswick, to Wilson and L. Marie (Colford) Bamford.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda (Irvine) Bamford; daughters, Vicki, and Cindy (Andrew), and granddaughter, Ashleigh. He is also survived by his brother, Jefferey Bamford (Karen) of Jacksonville, NB; nephews, Justin and Jordan (Gabrielle), and niece Courtenay (Shayne); great nephews, Kohen and James; great nieces, Khali and Devyn; Cousin, Jerry; Brother-In-Law, William “Bill” Irvine; and extended family, and many friends. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jaidon and brother-in-law, Arthur (late Judith) Irvine.

John worked many years for Rothesay Paper, NB Power, and in his own wood lots. In 2005 he retired from NB Power. He made many friends over the years, and he would regularly catch up with them at Tim Hortons to tell stories, catch up on current events, and have long discussions regarding the game from the night before. John was a Montreal Canadiens fan in the winter, and a Toronto Blue Jays fan in the summer.

John had a special relationship with his daughters and could never say no when they needed help. He will be deeply missed by his family.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Peter Dickinson as he treated John with a lot of care and respect over the years.
