I met Frank during his time in Halifax, when he and Marilyn Inch became active in the former Harbour Folk Society. I loved watching his live shows and the way he connected with his audience sharing his music and vast repertoire of hilarious stories, but it is the relaxed Frank, sitting with a guitar and a group of friends, singing his favourites, that will be my enduring memory. Condolences to Jane, you are in our thoughts. Rest in Peace my old friend.

Frank was the big brother I never had. We shared many memories of our home country (Scotland) and of course he and dear Jane permitted Norman and I to have our wedding at their home (Thistledown Hall) Frank and Jane hosted many Ceilidhs and through them a lot of friends gathered annually to sing play music and enjoy the music
His music and song writing was amazing and writing the beautiful song for Jane (Jane’s Song) is so beautiful.
Frank loved living in Mactaquac and that place inspired him to write quite a few ballads. The outpouring of love and friendship written here by those who knew him makes my heart happy that we were all lucky to have been part of his story!

Jane, please accept my deepest condolences. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Frank twice as I say; first at a show in Fredericton and a few years later via Marilyn Inch. Frank has a great interest in music and connected with anyone with the same admiration for traditional folk. Frank will be missed though his music and memories will live on.

Met Frank in an Ottawa pub where he was performing a bunch of years ago. To my great delight, he invited me to the summer gathering at his and Jane's home. His legacy to me will forever be his loving acceptance, the music from his heart and his humor. You will be
missed my dear.

Such a sorrow. A true talent that will be fondly remembered by many many folk musicians in the area who can honestly say how instrumental he was in the local music scene. Condolences Jane, thank you for all you too have done.

Jane, we are so sorry to learn of Frank’s passing. He was a man of deep thought, exceptional talent and a gift for making all those he came in contact with totally engaged. I remember watching Frank and “Son’s of Erin” on TV in NL as a teenager and becoming addicted to their Irish/scottish/NL music and later in years raising a glass at “Rob Roy’s”. The last few years have been challenging with the many health issues you and your family have encountered. The values you have displayed for us in the importance of unconditional love, selflessness and commitment to family values are a true indication of the strength of your character and an inspiration to us all. May the many wonderful memories of time spent together with Frank, your family and your very large group of extended family members help carry you through this difficult time. Blessings and RIP Frank . Glynn & Esther

Dear Frank, You will be missed.
When moving into the neighbourhood just over 16 years ago… The Mighty Frank Taylor came down the driveway with a bottle of red wine stating “Hi, my name is Frank. Welcome to the neighbourhood. We are having a Ceilidh all weekend. Love to see you.” We were friends from then onward. From home projects to adventures to Halifax, Ottawa, Montreal… only some we can talk about…
Sending love from the Duffie clan.
Thank you Frank for your friendship, music and adventures…
