Obituary of Vivian Annie Foster

Please share a memory of Vivian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vivian Annie (Jewett) Foster, wife of the late Eldon Foster, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Vivian was born on May 15, 1933 in Lower Hainesville, NB, to the late Fred and Alberta “Bertie” Jewett (Wallace). She was the center of our family, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many.

For nearly four decades, Vivian was a cherished presence in her community, delivering mail for Canada Post on the same route for 38 years. She knew every family and every face along the way, always greeting them with a warm smile and a kind word. Her dedication went beyond delivering mail – she built lasting connections and became a trusted friend to many. Often accompanied by her children, and later her grandchildren, Vivian turned her mail runs into cherished family traditions, teaching them the importance of service, community, kindness and care for others.

Vivian’s greatest love was her family, and her home was the heart of it all – a gathering place for holiday celebrations and casual get-togethers. She had a talent for making everyone feel welcome. Her special cookie jars, always stocked and carefully placed, ensured even the youngest family members could enjoy her delicious homemade cookies. Vivian also had a passion for shopping, gardening, crafting, and savouring quiet moments on her back patio. Their pool became a beloved hub for family and friends, creating countless joyful memories. She loved to travel and she and her late husband, Eldon, explored various countries, always returning with treasures and thoughtful gifts for their children and grandchildren. Vivian’s love radiated in everything she did, leaving a legacy of love, warmth, strength and togetherness.

Vivian is lovingly remembered by her family, including her sons, Kevin Foster (Janet) and Danny Foster; her daughter, Tammy Wade (Dave); her sister, Shirley Fox; her brother, Fred Jewett; daughter in-law, Debbie Foster; and her brothers in-law, Carl Foster and Stewart Foster (Betty). She was a proud grandmother to, Tanya Rankin (Robert), Jaime Foster-Stewart (Chris), Robin Foster (Eileen), Lisa Hill (Trent), Angie Cleghorn (Craig), Danielle Foster-Robinson (Steve), Matthew Foster, Trysha Niminiken (Chad) and Anthony Wade (Taylor). Her legacy lives on in her cherished great-grandchildren Allan (Katie), Josie, Kyle, Alex, Colby, Mitchel, Brayden, Cooper, Ryan, Ryder, Levi, and Allie; great-great-grandchildren, Aurora and Austin; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, and beloved husband of 57 years, Vivian was predeceased by her son, Brian Foster; and sister, Marie Crouse. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who loved her.
