To Brians family, I am so sorry for your sudden loss. Brian was one of my favorite co-workers in Deersdale. He was well respected and a dedicated company man who gave his 100% to anything he did. Brian and I worked alongside each other for many years, we had lots of laughs and chats about work, his expertise in scaling, life lessons, things he enjoyed, what was going on in the community and of course who the best hockey team was. I have great respect for Brian and will value the teachings he gave me as a young man along the way in my career. I was only 20 years old when i first met Brian in Deersdale "just a young pup" he would call me. However, as I have said to many, I went to Deersdale a boy but left a man and I owe much of that to the great man and women like "Brian" who thought me so much in my early life and it made me the person I am today. To that I say thank you Brian and may you rest in peace, till we meet again my good friend and have us another chat about those Leafs "give Heven some hell". My deepest sympathy to all Brians family and friends.

Brian Merrill was one of the good guys And will be missed greatly in Maple Grove and the much greater community extension. He was always available for work at the local United Churches, the Stanley Fair and of course he is well known among the Lion's community for his contributions. He was a great bingo caller. He was always available for building pig pens and loading pigs and cows. He was a good friend to many. I never heard him speak a bad word about anybody. He would drop his children off at Sunday School and then come back to our place where he and Terry would play crib. He had a touch of shyness about him and always would get red in the face when made the centre of attention or included in a joke. He was disarming and one always felt comfortable around him. He was a great listener and most of all he was a great family man and taught his children well. He and Beatrice raised a great family. Rest in Peace Brian.
