So sorry to hear of Helen’s death as just seeing now. My condolences to you girls and rest of family. Have had to move into an apartment from my home due to late husband and my health but when first moved into our home many years ago your mom gave us two maple trees that grew fast for shade in back of our gazebo. Housed many birds and squirrels loved climbing. Best house warming gift. A great talker and so friendly your mom. Must be so many good memories for you both as not one to be still long.

Jo, Karoline and extended family. Randy and I send our sincere condolences n the passing of your mother. She was a wonderful lady and was a woman of many talents. She taught my son in Cubs many years ago and I met her when we both worked at UNB. Hold onto the memories and those memories will help you through the difficult times ahead. She lived a good long life and will be missed.

Dear Caroline & Joanne,
I've just learned of your mother's death. I have thought off and on about her over the past years and particularly when I drive past her home while delivering meals on wheels (not knowing she was living at Shanex the past year plus). Through Cubs/Scouts & St Paul's various groups with seniors etc. I came to know and respect your mother - all that she did as well as her dedication, compassion, and opinions. Her life well lived and spirit has been a touch stone & inspiring for me. She gave much of herself throughout her life and her legacy can't be any greater than all the lives (young & old) she has touched/impacted. May you both pass through your grief with peace and gratitude.

Thinking of you and sending my sincere condolences to you Karoline and Jo and all the family at this sad and difficult time. I have many memories of Helen having had her as my neighbour for many years. She would always share some of her perennial plants with me- always had a good story to tell and loved coming to my yard sales. May all your memories bring you comfort today and in the days ahead. God Bless.

Helen began a journey of family history for many Hay & Manzer descendants on the West Coast. Her work on a book she and Aven's published called Willoughby and Harriet is fondly called "the blue book". In 2014 I took the book with me to Fredericton and met with Helen for the first time. We were at a Tim Horton's where we spread many reference books on a table and enjoyed a wonderful time together. I learned so much.
Christine Manzer.

I think I must have first met Helen when I was but a teenager. Unfortunately, we have not been in contact for years. My late wife, also a librarian, loved to visit her at the cottage on Little's Cove during a summer pilgrimage to NB. My condolences to all my family as we honor another friend whose earthly journey has now concluded

Sincerest sympathies. I remember Mrs Craig working at the Library at UNB. She was always a professional. I remember doing the groom's cake for Jon & Jo's wedding and she was there working with everyone to make it a special day. I hope your memories will bring you some comfort in time.
