Carol, Chris (Karen), Graeme (Claudie), Neil (Angela), Karen (Phil), Dale - and ALL MEMBERS of Gordie's Family - ========================================================================================
With our Grandfathers being brothers - Charlie (Carol) and Leslie - (Shirley) - we have been around one another for all of our lives - so richly blessed with lifetime memories to forever treasure!! Likewise, having the good fortune to work for the R.C.M.P, my EXTRA SPECIAL blessing was working at Old Government House with Dad (Eldon) - our Chief Cook /with Roy Saunders as his Assistant/our Cousin Marilyn and her husband Milton also working there - our families truly have been intertwined all of our lives!! We had simple lives - But we had life's richest blessing - ONE ANOTHER!!
How well we can remember Gordie teasing Russel - and the lireless loving care his dear sister Myrtle (and Eldon) gave Russel in their home - Gordie's close knit family are following the example set for them by their parents - may he rest in peace singing his heart out in his Heavenly Home!! We will continue to carry all of you in our thoughts and prayers - we truly share in your tremendous loss.
- Sending our love to all,
Shirley and Ceddy Munn .

Carol and family,
I am sorry to learn about Gordon's passing.
My mother, Verna Hayward, loved chatting with Gordon and having him in the choir.
Beatrice came with us to his birthday party several years ago and we had the best time!
When mom was in hospital she was pleased to let me know she had seen Gordon's son!
I'm glad we were fortunate enough to have Gordon as a friend. xo

We would like to express our condolences to the Young family. We were sorry to hear of Gordon’s passing.
Gordie and Carol were a regular part of our Christmas traditions. For more than 20 years, we would head out to Cardigan with the family to cut down a tree, and then it was time for the best part. We’d head into the cabin, potbelly stove fully stoked, for hot chocolate and cookies. Carol and Gordie would greet us by name, while we would sit around and discuss the events (family and otherwise) of the last year. Gordie wouldn’t need the measuring stick for the tree. He would just eyeball it from the kitchen. He was one of the nicest people we had the pleasure to meet. Graeme and Karen would keep us updated in between our annual visits. Karen even arranged for us to go up for one last Christmas tree harvest with Carol and Gordie a few years ago.
We send our love to you, Carol, and the rest of your family. You and Gordie made a real difference in our lives.

Gord always took credit for bringing Blaine and I together and we, like many others have so many fond memories of happy times together at Wilmot, family trips ( 3 generations of us) to your tree farm and social times.
We know his rich tenor voice can be heard just a bit above the others in the heavenly choir.
He will be deeply missed

My husband, Austin. and I met Gordon at a Christmas tree conference in Fredericton in the mid 80's when we were starting our farm. We bought our first shearing equipment from him. We continued to meet him on tours and conferences over the years and always enjoyed our time talking "trees" with him. His wife, Carol, also accompanied me to the Emergency in Fredericton after a fall had needed stitches.
In later years I was living in Fredericton with a neighbor of his and had many chats when he would stop by.
My condolences to Carol and family on the loss of a great gentleman . Marjory Tattrie

Everyone will remember that when asked how he was, Gordon always said, "never had a bad day in my life!" In spite of all his health problems he was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. My Bill and he had some wonderful conversations over the years, and Bill cherished their moments together. One of our happiest times was a trip to the lake with Don Stevenson to visit and have a meal with the Youngs. More hospitable people you will never find. I shall miss him, as all who knew him will; but know he left behind a great legacy and a family in whom he was very proud.

To Carol and all of Gord’s extended family.
We, like many always, had a Young’s Christmas tree for many years which we cut with our children enjoying a hot chocolate and conversation after… We remember our tattered recipe card in the box with our record of trees that Gord and Carol kept.
Gord knew my dad, Slim Johnson, through forestry and we shared forestry stories on every visit.
Gord was active on many fronts and contributed to many things helping make things better.
Above all else, Gord Young was a gentleman and he will be missed.
Condolences to you all.

Gordie was such a warm and generous person.
He and my mom had a special friendship- they shared a birthday one day apart. Seeing Gordie at church, especially if he was singing , made her so happy. He called me —- “ Peggy’s little girl.”
My father had taught Gordie at FHS, and Gordie shared some great stories about those days. Gave me new perspectives of my dad.
Gordie was a friend of everyone he met. And I am so grateful that he was my friend.
