Glen Hanford Greene, our father, died after a lingering illness. We all miss him. He was born the eldest in a family of eight children and grew up on a farm in Gregg Settlement in Carleton County. He was just a few weeks shy of turning 96 years old, and he worked hard his whole life.

He was predeceased by the mother of their five children, Dora (Hunter) Greene, their only son Vincent Greene and their grandson, Clark Greene. He was also predeceased by his parents Albert and Blanche (Glenn) Greene; son-in-law, Roberto Florean; his best friend and sister, Audrey Annette Embleton Jones, brother Darrell (Nora), his twin brothers Donald (Dorothy) and David (Anne) and his brother Reginald (Gail). He was also predeceased by his second wife Evelyn.

He is survived by his wife Joan; his siblings, Gary (Linda) and Ernestine (we all call her Tena); daughters, Marilyn (Donald Swan) of Brantford. Ontario, Glenda (Forrest Orser), Cynthia and Kelli (Roberto Florean, deceased), of Fredericton, New Brunswick; his grandchildren left to grieve are: Sean Swan (Bianca), Michael Swan (Stephanie), D.J. Swan (Kathy), Ross Greene (Shanae), Harrison Florean, Sheri Richard (Steve) and May Sullivan; great-grandchildren are Tom, Birkley, Emily, Sadie and Rylynn; he also leaves more nieces and nephews than you can shake a stick at; his brother-in-law Clarence Hunter is also left behind to mourn as is his daughter-in-law, Joyce Greene. He will be buried beside Dora in the Hunter family graveyard in Stickney.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home on August 4, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm. His funeral will take place at Nashwaaksis United Church on August 5, 2024 at 11 am with Rev. Kay Clowater officiating, with a reception to follow. Click the link at the top of the obituary to register and view the live service.
