Obituary of Donald Scott Maynard

The passing of Donald Scott Maynard, husband of Colleen (Kelly) Maynard of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on November 19, 1943 in Winnipeg, MB, he was the son of the late Ethel (Alexander) Maynard and the late Alfred Maynard. Donald was an avid golfer. He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1997 with 32 years of combined service, with the Black Watch, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment and the logistics branch. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Oromocto and the Black Watch Association.

Donald is survived by his daughters, Angela Cogswell (Paul) of Fredericton, Stacey Fenton (Derrick) of Waasis; grandchildren, Bailey Fenton (Jennifer), Adam Cogswell (Grace), Tanner Fenton and Sara Cogswell; siblings, Kenneth Maynard (Carol) of Dartmouth, Linda Pellerin (Garfield) of Dartmouth, Dennis Maynard (Pat) of Dartmouth, Gary Maynard (Sherry) of Dartmouth, Kevin Maynard (Karen) of Dartmouth, several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by two infant grandsons, Charles Jacob and Zachary Paul.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive , Fredericton on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 6 – 8 pm.  A Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive , Fredericton , NB on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 1 pm with Father Maria Arokiam Chinnappan officiating.  A Private Interment will take place in the Canadian Legion Field of Honour at Forest Hill Cemetery , Fredericton .
