Jennie Elliott
I shared a year of nursing training in Montreal with Debbie. We enjoyed much laughter and stories of her home and family in Fredericton. In 1969 I spent a part of our summer break at her home where I met her beloved grandpa and her warm and welcoming mom. I will always remember the ever present pot of tea on the big cast-iron stove in the kitchen. I got to meet Jeanette, her daughter, Janice, and all the boys. Janice was just a young teen at the time and I am sad she too is gone. I especially remember giving Randy piggyback rides which he loved. My late husband and I introduced her to Steve and were so shattered at his untimely loss. She introduced me to her wonderful home city, and I will cherish the many people I met and places we visited. Debbie loved her family above all else. I’ll miss you Deb.

My name is Nina Williams, and I am divorced. I have three kids with my ex-husband, who messed up my credit report before we got divorced. This made my life with my kids a living hell, and I felt frustrated. However, I met a friend in church who recommended H A C K M A V E N S CREDIT SPECIALIST. I contacted them, and within 7 days, they fixed my credit and increased my score from 515 to 785. Now, I can take loans, own a house, and run a business. If you have any credit-related issues, you can reach out to them via EMAIL: H A C K M A V E N S 5 @ G M A I L. C O M or Call/Text/Whats-App: [+ 1 (2 0 9) 4 1 7 – 1 9 5 7].

I remember going to Debs on a Saturday and doing some yard work. A memo was sent out by Lisa Pegg asking us to join her in Operation Shrub Love. Many of us signed up for the task. With many hands we brought her front yard back to life. Deb was overwhelmed at what we had done. We were extremely honored to be able to do something for her, as she had given us all so much. ❤️

My condolences to Deb’s beautiful extended family. I had the privilege of calling Deb my friend for many years as we nursed together. Deb had the biggest heart and cared passionately for her work family. She was Nurse Manager of 4SE and I was employed as pain nurse then clinical nurse specialist for surgery then wound care. Whenever I approached Deb for mandatory education for the nursing team, Deb always organized the staff so they all received and attended. It didn’t matter what the staffing was like, she truly valued the nurses and the importance of maintaining skills and she got it done! You could always count on Deb to be supportive and she was fun to work with. Loved her dry sense of humour. She had such a big heart. Missed her after she retired but grateful for the dinner get togethers. It was wonderful to hear of the stories of her love and commitment to her family at the celebration of her life. I bet she is smiling from above.

I am so sorry that I couldn't be there yesterday and today for the Celebration of Life for Deb. I want you all to know that you are in my thoughts today and I hope you can find some consolation to know that Debbie was loved by many. I know that she spoke so highly of all of you and was a very proud Auntie! I was looking forward to seeing as many family members today as possible. Debbie was loved by all those who had the pleasure of working with her as their Nurse Manager. When I think of the staff on her unit, I am reminded of the day some of them came over to her place, unbenounced to her, and set up a beautiful flower garden at the front of the house. I do believe she was even home but never saw or heard anything. I am not sure how long it took her to see the finished garden, but she was overwhelmed by what her friends/coworkers had done for her. This was not long after her retirement.
No words can express how I, and her many friends, feel over the loss of someone with such a big heart.

Because I am unable to attend Debbie's Celebration of Life today, I wish to tell you about our bright idea to start walking a couple of days a week to get some exercise. Hoping to be an inspiration to each other, we walked the train bridge and stopped at every pit stop along the way to rest. We didn't get much exercise on these walks as we took our good old time, but we kept up to date with what was happening in our lives. We were dedicated to walking during these times but we never set any goals. In fact, some days I know we both really didn't care to walk back to where we started but, the car was back there so we had no choice!!
Sometimes we even went for an ice cream at our favourite place afterwards and if the truth be known, we enjoyed the ice cream more. In fact whenever we went together to visit Pat and Gordie at the lake, we always stopped there on our way.
You can never spend enough time with friends. Take time to smell the roses because nothing lasts forever. Deb you are now with the people you loved dearly in your life but there sure are a lot of people who loved you dearly here as well and there will be that void for a long time.
REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND!

I was blessed to call Deb my friend. Debbie loved her family fiercely. Her eyes and face lit up when she talked about her nephews and nieces. When their was a new arrival she loved to show us pictures. To be honest, I am struggling to find words that do her justice. She loved being a nurse manager. She was respected and loved by her staff. She was smart and knew how to get things done. We helped each other through good times and bad. Her laugh was infectious and lifted my spirit so many times. Our little supper group will never be the same. We will never forget our precious friend.
My deepest condolences to her family who loved her as much as she loved them.

I had the privilege of working with Deb for many years at DECH . She was a wonderful nurse manager and a great resource for other nurse managers like myself. She was well loved by her staff and was such a great role model.
She loved her family unconditionally . She never ceased talking about all of her nieces and nephews and all the new little ones as they arrived.
I was so happy to be able to call Deb my friend . I would text her frequently just to chat or ask advice as she was a very intelligent lady . . She was the best organizer of outings for our DECH friend group .If it had been awhile since we met, we would get a message from Deb, “ time to meet, when are you available? “We have enjoyed many outings together since both of us retired, and all of us enjoyed time spent with her so much.
She managed to maintain such a positive attitude when a hospital patient herself, and would always praise the staff for their good care of her.
Deb, I am heartbroken , and will miss you so much .
