Obituary of Eva Lenore Stewart
“An excellent wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.”
Proverbs 31:10 starts with these words and continues on to describe someone we knew and loved; our mother. “She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household.” That was Mom. “She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy”. Mom did that. “She opens her mouth with wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue”. Sometimes it takes a long time to realize this, but Mom really was right! She was kind to everyone and was an example of strength to her family.
Eva Lenore Stewart (Humble) went to meet her Lord and saviour on June 5, 2024. We will miss her. We will miss her freshly cooked molasses cookies which were always ready for us in the cookie jar. We will miss the stories of her life, the good times and bad times and lessons to be learned. She was always ready to help and to listen. We always knew without a doubt that Mom loved us. That was the constant in our lives.
Eva is survived by her daughters, Constance Helen Hirtle (Rick) of Halifax, Donna Jean Craig of Sussex; grandchildren: Craig Hirtle (Carla) of Dartmouth, Tammy Hirtle of Dartmouth, Tony Hirtle (Laurie) of Winnipeg, Nicole Jonsen-Humble (Ian) of Dartmouth, Karrie Humble (Brett Graham) of Dartmouth and Danny Humble (Kelly) of Edmonton, Karen Williams (Kirk), Adam and Dana Craig all of Sussex; along with 17 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Cal Humble of Dartmouth; brothers, Wesley MacKay, William MacKay (Joan) of Hayesville.

Donald Humble; second husband, George Stewart; son, Carl (Cal) Humble; son-in-law, Terrance Craig; siblings, Berton MacKay, Velma Clowater, Pearle Sansom, Dale MacKay, Hardy MacKay, Marie Clowater, Bernice MacKay, Theo MacKay.
