With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Cecil Miner, which occurred May 19, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born in 1927 in
Cecil is survived by his daughter, Daphne Geneau (Jim); his grandson, Shawn Pleunis (Angeline); granddaughter, Stephanie Hunter (Larry); and great grandchildren, Brooke, Hulford and Myles Hunter.
He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Sadie, with whom he shared 66 happy years.
Cecil had a great passion for salmon fishing and playing his beloved Gibson guitar. In earlier years he often performed on radio and TV. He was given the stage name Curly Miner.
Cecil was an inspiration and a marvel of health and longevity to everyone who met him. He loved being outside and ran the Ring Road everyday for many years.
There will be no visitation, and cremation will take place at York Funeral Home. A private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
