Obituary of Owen Lee Fairweather

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Owen Lee Fairweather of Fredericton, NB, on May 5, 2024. Owen was born on April 14, 2007, in Fredericton, NB, to loving parents April Thorne and Donald Fairweather.

He is survived by his sister, Lyla Fairweather; his grandparents, Albert and Delia Fairweather, and Ross and Sam Thorne; his girlfriend, Sarah Lundrigan; his aunts, Rhonda Fairweather (Mike) and Tammy Libby (Ricky); his uncle and godfather, Timmy Roy (Jody); his great aunt, Randi Barry; his best friend, Dylan Gillies; his cousins, Irene and Wesley Hatt; along with several second cousins, great uncles and aunts, and countless friends. Owen was preceded in death by his brother, Evan Fairweather, and his godmother, Carrie Burns.

Owen was a grade 11 student at Leo Hayes High School, where he had many friends. He was a valued employee of the 506 Crew. He was an entrepreneur from a very young age. Enjoyed welding to create custom projects and sculptures. Owen was known for his mechanical prowess, and used his abilities to run a Small Engine Repair and Motorized Bike Building company with his best friend Dylan. Owen possessed an innate ability to fix anything with a motor.  

He loved dirt bikes and cars, listening to music and spending time with his many friends. His pets, especially his cat Marty, held a very special place in his heart.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 2 PM, with Reverend Paul Ranson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
