Ella Mae Ward, beloved mother, wife of the late Duncan Ward, peacefully departed this life on May 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at York Care Centre in Fredericton, NB. Born on November 20, 1939, in Greenhill, NB, she was the cherished daughter of the late Elsie (Bishop) and Gilbert Merrill.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Eugene Ward (Jennifer); daughter, Karen Ward (Peter); grandson, Jake Ward (Terri Leigh); granddaughter, Megean Ward (Chris); great-granddaughter, Peyton Kehoe; along with several nieces and nephews. Ella Mae was predeceased by her husband, Duncan, and her parents, as well as her sisters, Ola Merrill and Ila Chedore, and her brothers, Willard, Walter, and Elwood Merrill.

Ella Mae embarked on her career journey at General Dairies, then transitioned to The Marysville Store, culminating her professional endeavors with over 20 years of dedicated service at NBLC.

Outside of her work, Ella Mae found joy in various activities, including playing Bingo, bowling, and hunting partridge. Together with her husband, she cherished many years of camping along the Dungarvon.

A Graveside Service to honor Ella Mae's life will be held at Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery in Fredericton on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 2 pm. For those inclined, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choosing. Personal condolences can be shared via www.yorkfh.com.
