Obituary of William Rogers Hennessy
Hennessy, William Rogers
William Rogers Hennessy, a resident of Fredericton, NB, peacefully passed away on April 24, 2024, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 17, 1951, in Campbellton, NB, he was the cherished son of the late Helen (O'Leary) and Edison Hennessy.
Bill worked in Alberta for many years and enjoyed a fulfilling career with the City of Calgary. When he retired, he returned to his home province of New Brunswick to be closer to family. He found joy in giving back to his community through volunteer work with the Canadian Red Cross. In his leisure time, he delighted in the simple pleasures of bicycling and cheering on his favorite sports teams, including his beloved New York Yankees.
Bill leaves behind his daughter, Elaine Bell (Nathan), his grandson, Sam Bell, his granddaughter, Audrey Bell, his sister-in-law, Marie Dubuc, his aunt, Patricia O'Leary Coughlan, and his special cousin, Teresa McEachern. He is preceded in death by his brother, O'Leary Hennessy.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, located at 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 9 to 11 am. A Memorial Service, officiated by Maureen Jeffries, will follow promptly at 11 am at the same location. Interment at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be shared online at www.yorkfh.com.
