Always time for smiles and a little conversation when seeing John, as I walked down Beulah Road. I well remember the first time I met him - summer of 2007 - and learned of his ancestors' presence there on the banks of the beautiful St. John River.
He dropped by several times to see how we were doing when my husband, David, was ill. Happy to have made his acquaintance. My sincere condolences to the family, but especially Libby, as she's the only family member I happened to meet.

John was an incredible friend and was a part of my family for as long as I can remember. From sailing to skiing to sharing in our love for animals. John & Dad used to make wine together and spent many Thursdays sampling their batch. I’d often get to experience their laughter and teasing. “What!?Rob….Really?!?” We are really going to miss him, but take comfort knowing he is at peace. Sending our love to his family. He will never be forgotten.

Laurie and I are so happy to have met John and to have our friendship over the years. John Fallon and John Sinclair were our support team more than once while we aimed our boat from Saint John toward the Caribbean. They drove us here and there, picked up items, put us up, and generally kept us going. We also had the pleasure of vacationing with the two Johns while they were in the Caribbean on Fallon’s sailboat. Our condolences to Grant, the rest of the family as well as John Fallon. Hugs to all!! - Laurie and Dawn Corbett

I have such fond memories of your Dad, John, Grant and Jennifer…referred to as “Big John” by my family. He was a prominent figure during my teenage years, when he acted as chauffeur and chaperone to all those away ski races. Seeing him barrel down Humes Flume on his 235cm Fischer RC4s is forever etched in my mind, and always puts a smile on my face. His enthusiasm when Peter and I chose a sailing excursion on Penobscot Bay for our honeymoon is another of my memories. I can still picture him sitting on our back step, book in hand, sharing the nautical history of that region. I have full confidence it was a good pow day, with favourable winds somewhere in the universe(or beyond) on April 23rd. Sail on Big John.
Sincere condolences,
Lisa Barton

In the late 50’s my Mom rented rooms to nurses who worked at the Victoria Public Hospital . Our home was at 207 Smythe St .
Sylvia was one of Mom’s favourites and that is when the Burgess family met John . John just kept showing up . Mom and Dad were fond of John and very happy when he and Sylvia announced they were getting married . I ran into John over the years and he always inquired about the folks , always a gentleman.

Sylvia and Family, and Libby,
Please accept our deepest sympathy. From the time of our birth and now well into our later years, many of our happiest moments were spent in the company of John ("Speed") Sinclair---swimming, fishing, playing croquet and baseball, and just "funning around" at Cochrane's Canteen and summer bonfires. Speed was a great companion---kind-hearted, filled with goodness and affection for others. His kindness was especially obvious in his great concern for his family and his devoted care of his parents. Our hearts are heavy for your loss. Again, our deepest sympathy and prayers.

We are saddened to learn of “Speeds” passing. He was our Beulah Rd neighbour for as long as I can remember. Lots of great memories there. Beulah Rd won’t be the same without him. He will be missed by so many. He was a Browns Flat institution. It is an end of an era. We send our sincerest condolences to all of his family. Please know you are in our thoughts at this sad time.
