Finding a sister I never knew existed was a special day in my life. We didn’t spend a lot of time together but talked often. I was so glad to know I had the opportunity to know her. My prayers are with all of the family.

I met Marlene in Vietnam, on her first trip after retirement, and we got along instantly, despite the gap in our years. She was very much young at heart, and so funny, packed full of light!
I was one of the lucky recipients of her beautiful quilts, one honeycomb patterned in orange and yellow and pretty paisley. She gave it to me for my first winter in Canada, and I thought "what a godawfully long time this must have taken" but she wasn't the type to count the hours, which warmed my heart even more.
We went on a drive in the fall looking at the leaves across the up and down hills of New Brunswick. It was one of her most favorite activities, she said. She didn't have a destination in mind. I asked her how retirement was going, and she told me all about the fun she fills her time with, riding horses, reading, her cats,... but also that she misses work sometimes. This made me realize that she was the kind of person that could find happiness wherever she was.
So I wish that she could grace this earth for more years, days and hours but I know in such little time she was here, she left a spirit unforgettable.
Miss you lots, Marlene.

It was a blessing for me to have been a co-worker with Marlene. She had been a great co-worker and a great friend who supported me in all aspects of my work and helped me maintain my work - life balance. She got us involved in many activities such as lunches together, event decorations and Secret Santa, which made us feel like we were in a same family. She had very nice, beautiful hand writing, and I enjoyed reading her "Quote of the Day" on our board.
She loves pets and animals, and shares a lot of passions about horse riding. When she retired in 2019, I invited her to join me for a trip to my home town in Vietnam and we have had numerous souvenirs together. She had the occasion to taste the real, authentic Vietnamese "Pho" (noodle soup) that she likes a lot. The trip was not too long, but she enjoyed seeing different landscapes and meeting local people.
On many occasions she made delicious dishes for my nephew and my niece. Almost every Christmas, she came with a lot of presents for my family, sometimes her beautiful quilts and sometimes her nice decorations.
She is a real angel and now the angel is going back to where she came from. She will always be in my family's hearts and thought. We miss you and love you Marlene.

Sending my deepest condolences to Marlene's family. I worked with Marlene at UPS for over a decade. She was the mother hen of our OMD department. Always eager to talk to people and make friends with coworkers. She would take an interest in your hobbies, life events, children or pets. Constantly making things like blankets for pets. My cat was lucky enough to receive a few. You could tell each stitch was made with love. She would leave little trinkets on your desk if she was out shopping and found something she thought you would like. I remember being a brand new hire in the dept and she was talking about wanting to take horseback riding lessons. She was looking for people to go with. Mentioning how much fun it would be. I was so shy and didnt know any of my coworkers personally yet but I asked her if I could go with her. She was so excited and said yes. From that moment on I felt like she took me under her wing. She told me what I needed to buy for shoes and where to go. I had never been riding before. We took riding lessons together every Sunday for years until covid. It was alot of fun. Afterwards we would go for coffee or to her place for lunch. I will never forget how kind she was to me. She was a really good friend. My dad passed away tragically in 2016 and Marlene was constantly checking up on me asking if I was doing ok. She always wanted to help out. She made holidays special . Especially Christmas. Christmas at the office hasnt been the same since she retired. We all enjoyed sticking our hand in her bag of ornaments without peaking and pulling out our surprise. The prime ornament was always the disco balls. Everyone would fight over them. We all kept the ornaments up on our desks year round. Im so happy she was able to enjoy her retirement for a few years. Marlene was too well loved to ever be forgotten. Im grateful to have known her and that she considered me a friend. Sending my prayers to her two boys. Marlene was so proud of you and would talk for hours about you both.

Marlene loved the horses she rode regularly so much that once they left the riding stable, she would go and visit them in their retirement home. And she always had mints - all the horses knew she would give them a mint and they would come to her when she called.

Marlene was the funniest person at work. She used to bring me flyers every Thursday, and we would chat. And at Christmas, every year she would go around to every desk in the building and give you a Christmas ornament. You couldn't look. You had to put your hand in the bag and look the other way and grab your yearly ornament. She was missed when she retired. I hope she is making people smile in heaven like she did down here. She was kind and feisty.
