Obituary of Glenwood Harry Flinn
It is with great sadness that the family of Glenwood Harry Flinn announces his peaceful passing on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Glenwood was born on February 12, 1932 to the late Harry Raymond Flinn and Georgina Muriel (Smith) Flinn. Dad held many jobs in his long working career, Heavy Equipment Operator, Truck Spring Fabrication, Carpenter, Senior Home Maintenance and many more in between, including a great husband, father and provider. He was a faithful member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 52 years. His greatest passion was playing darts and shuffle board with his team mates and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his living wife of 72 years, Annie Logan; his sons, Duane (Marg), Keith (Stacy); grandchildren, Andrew Sangster, Amy Fry, Beth Moore, Patrick Flinn and Aaron Flinn; great grandchildren, Abby Fry and Leah Moore. He was predeceased by his two daughters, Christine Sangster and Lana Johnson; also his parents and siblings, Lawrence Flinn, Roy Flinn, Marie Wagg, Jimmy Flinn, Edward Flinn, Greta Bartlett and Stanley Flinn, the only surviving member of his family, his twin sister Glenna Jones.
Special thanks to Extra Mural and all the Dr’s, Nurses, LPN’s, student nurses, social workers, custodians, food service on 3E Palliative Care unit and the Reverend Nicholas Saulnier for all their care and compassion and humour, especially those who came by his door even when they were not his attendant just to wave and give him a smile. It meant a lot to the family.
