Morehouse, Eulalia “Lalia” Marie

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother and wife of the late Fred Morehouse, Lalia Morehouse (Corey) on February 26, 2024, at York Care Center. Born on North Road, Campobello Island on August 10, 1932 to Ivan and Elsie Corey. Lalia worked many years at Woolco in the take-out foods department, she otherwise was a home maker and loving mother. Lalia played the organ in the North Road Baptist Church, as well as enjoyed many long weekends on Campobello with Eunice and Kevin. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at York Care Center who took extra care in looking after her, we know who you are.

She is survived by her five children, Connie Goodine (Larry) of Calgary, Eunice Gill (Kevin Weaver) of Fredericton, Ira of Ontario, Mina Skidnuk (Tom) of British Columbia, and Owen (Tracv Betts) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Kerry Goodine, Jared Goodine, and Rebecca Goodine (Jack Rezai) all of Calgary, Jason Mollins of Fredericton, Mitchell and Jake Skidnuk of British Columbia, and Brianna Morehouse of Ontario; two great-grandchildren, Carly Mollins and Isaac Rezai; sister-in-law, Bev Corey; cousins, Gerald and Harry Corey

Besides her parents and husband, Lalia was predeceased by her siblings, Inez, Mel, Mina, Ivan and Charlie Corey; and most recently her sister-in-law, Julia Estey.

Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 1-2 pm with a service following at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Cook officiating.
