Obituary of Norma Jean Theriault

Please share a memory of Norma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With very heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Norma Jean Theriault, who left this world peacefully on February 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 25, 1931, in Maple Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late William Sharp and Willa (Sharpe) Rayner. She was the oldest of 4 children and is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Jamal) Dow, and two brothers David (Diane) Davidson, and John (Mona) Davidson. Norma is also survived by her 5 children Paulette (Gary) Boyd, Susan (Walter) Paul, William (Mary) Stairs, Mark Stairs, and Tom (Debbie) Stairs. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Norma enjoyed a long career with the Department of Natural Resources. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crosswords, bingo, painting and dancing. Norma was famous for her cooking and her family especially enjoyed her homemade brown bread and baked beans. She was the epitome of love, kindness, and generosity. She embraced life and was known for her passion for hitting the road, earning her the affectionate nickname “Road Runner”. Her witty remarks and humorous anecdotes never failed to bring laughter to those around her. The memories created during holidays, family gatherings, and everyday moments will forever be cherished.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Eden’s Retirement Villa, who helped us care for Norma in her final days, ensuring she could pass peacefully and with dignity, just as she wished. Their kindness and dedication will always be remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Magaguadavic, NB where she will join her late husband and soul mate, Lionel Joseph Theriault. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society. Personal condolences and sharing of memories of our beloved Norma may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.

Rest in peace, dear Norma. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
