As Janets obituary reads, as a relative by marriage all I ever heard was how kind and friendly Aunt Janet was. She was always Aunt Janet to my husband Charles (Chuck) Douglass and he looked forward to visiting with her each he visited "home", the Maritimes. I enjoyed the few times I was along. She was so hospitable and friendly! I hope she is at peace, Penny Douglass, Kamloops, BC

I have great memories of Aunt Janet. She had a quiet calming way about her and I loved spending time with her. She made the best nanaimo bars and gave out the best Halloween treats! She was a great lady who will be dearly missed. My condolences to all of her family.

I am saddened to hear of Janet's passing. She was an incredible woman. My first job was as a summer student at the old Murray F. Humes School on York Street in 1981. I got to know Dick, Janet and the amazing Tracey. Years later when I moved to Nashwaaksis, I would be out walking every night and stop to have a chat with Janet & Tracey while they were sitting outside in the evenings. It always amazed me that after all that time, they remembered me. The pride and joy she took in her family was second to none and she took such delight in telling us stories of what everyone was up to. She truly was an angel on earth and will be missed.

Our condolences to Donna and family as well as to her sisters and their families on the loss of their mom and Nan. Donna has been a part of our family since her marriage to our son Chris. Two of our grandchildren, Alex and Jana were also her grandchildren and she was always "Nan" to them. Janet was a very caring and compassonate person and as a nurse, this came through in her very being. She did privite duty with my father when he was terminally ill in Palliative Care back many years ago and for that we were always grateful. Sincere sympathy to Janet's family from our family....James and Marilyn Bubar, Andy and Wendy Bubar and Debbie and Malcolm Hawkins.

Dear Diana: Just wanted to send a note to say how sorry I am to hear of your Mom's passing. I always look in when I drive by the house especially in the summer to see if your Mom and sister were out front sitting. I had no idea that your Mom was now in PIne Grove. Diana, you have been an amazing daughter/sister. Anytime I went for a Lifeline call, you were always there helping and doing things for them. The world needs more of you! I know how appreciative your Mom was for everything you did.
I just lost my Mom 3 years ago and it's hard to deal with when you see them everyday and then they are gone. Our Mom's are now in a much better place and free of pain. Will be thinking of you.
Sincerely,
Maria Pugh

Dear Diana, Nancy, Donna, Frances, Tracey and families, Your Mom (Aunt Janet) was a wonderful person, always ready to help in whatever way she could. She was such a help to Mom when our Dad passed and Mom needed help with childcare while she worked. Aunt Janet was a role model for all of us and we were very lucky to have her in our lives. Will never forget Aunt Janet and the love she gave us. Love, Agnes and Stephen
