Gordon, Ross Edward

 

The passing of Ross Edward Gordon of Fredericton, NB, husband of Beryl Ann (Spavold) Gordon, occurred on January 21, 2024 at The Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton, NB.  Born on August 4, 1941 in Sydney, NS, he was the son of the late Myra  (Moore) and James Duffell Gordon. 

 

Born in Sydney, N.S. Ross joined the Royal Canadian Army in 1959. He was first trained as a Radio Operator, and participated in the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Congo. He later trained as an Administration Clerk and served from BC, ALERT, NWT, ALTA, ONT, NB and NS. He had a distinguished 35 year career. He retired as a Master Warrant Officer in May 1994. He was also a very talented artist who enjoyed quilting and woodworking in his free time.

 

Besides his wife, Ross is survived by daughter, Kimberly Whittaker (Paul) of Saint John, son, Troy Gordon (Jackie) of Fredericton, son Rev. Eric "Rick" Gordon (Jackie) of Calgary; grandchildren, Kealy (Jordan) and Dalton (Ashlyn) Whittaker, Matthew Gordon, Luke Gordon, and Zachary Gordon; brother, Robert "Bob" Gordon (Jean) of Dartmouth, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents,
Myra and James Gordon; infant son, Glenn Scott Gordon; and brother, Harry Gordon.

 

A Graveside Service will take place in St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Zealand in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Alzheimer's Society, or to the charity of your choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
