Obituary of Judy Anne MacKinnon

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Judy Anne MacKinnon (Gullison) on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 with her three girls by her side.

Born on June 25, 1954 in Stanley, NB, Judy worked many years at Nashwaak Villa, where she enjoyed cooking for many residents.

After retirement and moving to Fredericton, she took on various part time jobs with crossing guard being her favorite. Anyone who ever visited mom would always leave with a full belly and warm hug.

In mom’s spare time spare time you could find her playing crib or at bingo with her best friend and sister-in-law, June Elliott. She also enjoyed her many day trips with her friend, Judy Powers. Her baby sister, Beverly Gullison was mom’s rock and biggest supporter her entire life.

Mom’s pride and joy were her three girls, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom enjoyed our many family gatherings and was always up for a good time!

She was predeceased by her husband, Clifford MacKinnon; parents, Stephen Gullison, Mavis Gallagher and Thurston Gallagher; sister, Ola Wright; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.

Judy is survived by her three girls, Misty Kelly (Greg), Jennifer Tingley (Trevor), Regena Player (Mark); four grandchildren, Zachary Kelly, Brittany O’Blenes (Adam), Hanna Reynolds (Cole) and Madison Tingley; three great-grandchildren, Billie-Mae, Rowan and Lennan; sister, Beverly Gullison (Orie); brother, Everett Gullison; several brother and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and her much loved fury friend, Katniss.

I’ve had a life of “many” ups and downs;

And many a day, I received a few frowns.

I should have wrote a book on all my mishaps,

But if I did you might of forgot this old “SAP”

My “three” girls that I had along life’s way,

Have been my Bright Light every living day!

The grandkids followed and Oh What A Joy

To see their faces made me feel like a New Toy!

I feel Blessed for the Friendships I “Had”

And don’t want anyone to leave here sad.

Go celebrate the years that I had with you all

And love One Another till stars start to fall

Life can be tough but you must go on;

And I’ll see you again some early dawn!

Written by Judy (Mum, Grammie) MacKinnon

In keeping with mom’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Mom’s final message to all is… no sad tears, crack a cold one and play a good tune!

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nashwaak Villa.
