The family of Marie “Annette” (Plourde) Porter, wife of Thomas Lee Porter, would like to announce her passing on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB after only an 18 day stay at the end of her courageous battle. Born on July 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Adrien and Aline (Ouellette) Plourde. Annette was a member of St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, walking, singing, cooking, interior decorating and writing poems.

In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Annette is survived by her daughter, Mary “Nadine” Clark (Norval) of Fredericton, NB; brother, Serge Plourde (Elizabeth) of Scarborough, ON; brother-in-law, Jacques Sirois of Saint John, NB; sister-in-law, Christine Martinez of Lexington, NC and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Annette is predeceased by sister, Rinette Sirois and brothers, Andre Plourde, Jean-Guy Plourde, Bertrand Gerald Plourde and Gilles Plourde.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 2-4pm. A Memorial Service will be held from St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church, 120 Regent Street, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11am with Father Suresh Savariraj officiating. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
