We extend our sympathy on John's passing. He was a true gentleman, calm and wise. I, Peter, worked with John for ten years (1967-1977) in his role as vice-principal, We had middle school conference trips to St. Louis and to Florida. He was a friend as well. .He was an usher at our wedding. and, over the years, we held him in the highest regards. We share your loss.

Judy, Wendell & James- so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. I remember Mr. Dryden from my school days and so enjoyed visiting and playing Barbies with Judy. Going to South Branch for a weekend in which I packed my own bag makes me chuckle to remember Mae questioning what I did and didn’t bring- obviously I was oblivious to the weather requirements but the Dryden’s hospitality was top notch. I remember visiting at least 3 homes in which the family lived - great memories. May your happy memories ease your grief. Paula (Maynard) Daniels

When I hear the name John Dryden it reminds me of my days in SWHS. He was my Grate 8-9 teacher.
After I left school I worked a couple of yrs 71-72 on the Winter Works program for the Village of Fredericton Jct.
It was there that I got to know John in a different way as he looked after us in his role as deputy mayor and Mayor. We were a lively bunch to say the least but he did his best to guide us and keep us in line.
Then later in life when I joined the Gladstone Curling Club I knew him in a more sociable way.
He was always a fine gentleman and I admired his dedication to his teaching career and his commitment to the betterment of Fredericton Jct.
My sincere condolences to his family.
He was a great guy and an asset to the community.
May your memories and experiences help you all through this difficult time.

Have such great memories of Mr. Dryden and science classes. They were fun, he was such a stoic man ,but great teacher. The world was definitely a better place with him in it. So sad our children won’t have that experience.
