Obituary of Donald Wade Stewart

Please share a memory of Donald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness the family of Donald Wade Stewart “Donnie” announce his passing on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 17, 1959, in Fredericton, NB, he was the cherished son of the late Rita Stewart (Douglas Stewart) and Lloyd Bell.

Donnie is survived by his “sweetie” and wife of 39 years, Kimberly Stewart (Gallant). He was known as “Dad” to Joseph Stewart (Toni Brooks) and Nicole Stewart (Robbie Weale); and as “Papa” to grandsons, Cameron, Theodore and Jackson. Donnie is also survived by his sisters, Mary Goodine (Don), Sheila Harris (Ken), Linda McLellan (Fred) and Theresa Veniot (Peter).

The spirit of the Tay Valley ran deep in his soul. He worked as a welder for 26 years with L & A Metalworks, retiring in 2008 for health reasons; and at several jobs in the following years, enjoying each and the people he met along the way.

Donnie was a devoted family and friends’ kind of man who worked hard; he was caring, easy-going, funny, and the one to offer help with never a bad word about anyone.

There will be a Celebration of Donnie’s Life on Saturday, January 27th, from 1-4 pm, at the Marysville Heritage Center, all friends and family are invited to attend. The family would like to thank all of the 3SW CCU staff who cared so well for Donnie in his final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
