Obituary of Ralph Whitman Jones

The passing of Ralph Whitman Jones of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Carolyn (Yerxa) Jones, occurred on Thursday January 4, 2024 at Hospice Fredericton.  Born on March 27, 1947 in Burtts Corner, NB, he was a son of the late Burton and Faye (Clark) Jones.  Ralph enjoyed a long career with Wawanesa Insurance for 38 years and was quoted to be an “ambassador in the business, respected for being fair and reasonable”.  Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the grandchildren at hockey and ringette.  He loved spending time in the outdoors, camping and snowmobiling.     

Ralph is survived by his children, Beth Morehouse (James) and Jamie Jones (Monika Kovacs); grandchildren, Evan, Aaron and Lauren Morehouse and Elyse Jones; siblings, Garnet Jones, Betty Flowers (Donnie) and Carl Jones (Brenda); brother-in-law, Jerry Dow; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife and parents, Ralph was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Dow; sister-in-law, Anita Jones.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  The Funeral Service will take place at Burtts Corner Christian Church, 1021 Route 104, Burtts Corner, NB on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 2 pm with Pastor Dan Foreman and Pastor Graham Crandall officiating.  The service will also be available through the churches YouTube page (see link at top of the obituary). Pallbearers for the service will be Kevin Jones, Lee Flowers, Evan Morehouse, Aaron Morehouse, Andrew Waddingham and Bradley Waddingham.  A Private Family Interment will take place in Keswick Cemetery at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Burtts Corner Christian Church, Hospice Fredericton (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.) or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
