Bursey, Ronald Herbert

The passing of Ronald Herbert Bursey of Fredericton, NB, husband of Noella (Gallant) Bursey, occurred suddenly but peacefully at home on December 11, 2023. Born on December 30, 1936 in Moncton, NB, he was the son of the late Herbert and Kathleen (Duff) Bursey.

Ronald is survived by his children, Kim Bursey (Anne) of Newmarket, Ontario; Kevin Bursey of Hall Beach, Nunavut and Heather Bursey (John Gilbert) of Fredericton; step-children, Malcolm Hebert (Liz) of Vancouver, Shawn Hebert (Sherry) of Newmarket and Danielle Hebert of Moncton; brothers, Brian Bursey (Mary Ann) and Chris Bursey (Kathleen); grandchildren, Martha Carlow (Scott), Grahame Bursey (Lindsay), Laura Boone (Jody), Jennifer Knox (Jordan) and Carole Bursey-Munn (Adam); step grandchildren, Nathan Bastarache, Chloe Trevor (Gavin), Ben Hebert and Miranda Hebert ( Taylor); great grandchildren, Oliver, Poppy, Cullen and Lillith; brother-in -law Denis Gallant (Anne-Marie); sisters-in-law, Muriel Melanson (Armand) and Mona Gallant.

Ron enjoyed a lifelong career in sales beginning at age 19 with Marven’s before beginning a successful career at Prudential/Sunlife Insurance. He was very active in the community including a long-standing position as secretary treasurer for the United Commercial Travellers (UCT), member and former President of the Fredericton Rotary Club, member of the Nashwaaksis Kinsmen and dedicated member of the Nashwaaksis United Church where he supported several community outreach programs. Ron was happiest at the beach especially at his place at Parlee Beach. He also loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many places around the world, particularly on cruise vacations with Noella.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 5, 2024 at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton, NB from 12 noon to 2pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm with Rev. Richard Bowley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick, New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
