Obituary of Ruth Edna Adams

ADAMS, RUTH EDNA

The passing of Ruth Edna Adams of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Wayne Adams, occurred on December 1, 2023 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 17, 1939 in Bridgetown, NS, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Goldie Buckler.

Ruth is survived by her son, Rick Adams (Lara Morton) of Fredericton NB; brother, Wayne Buckler of Kentville, NS; grandchildren, Joshua and Thomas Adams and their mother, Carola Adams. She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Balcom and granddaughter Chantal Adams.

Ruth spent most of her working career as a secretary for the Department of Health, Canadian Armed Forces, among others. She played a key role in the setting up and running of the Devon Park Baptist Church library. She volunteered many hours and took on many different roles at her Church, Vacation Bible School, and the Ladies Auxiliary.

Ruth valued her family, friends, and Church the most. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, most notably her trip to the Holy City. She talked about these trips frequently. At family gatherings she would always ask for a moment to speak, and proceed to tell everyone how much she appreciated and loved all of her family. Her grandsons were the joy of her life. The family would like to recognize all of her close friends, most notably Sherri Mullen. Ruth cherished her friends dearly and the excitement she had to talk with them was truly indescribable.

Visitation will take place on December 7, 2023 at the Devon Park Baptist Church, from 1pm to 2pm, followed by a funeral service at 2pm with Rev. Terry Woodcock officiating. Interment will take place in the Seymour Cemetery, at a later date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Devon Park Baptist Church.
