Obituary of Robert Wayne Spencer

Robert Wayne Spencer, 63, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away suddenly in the early hours of Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in his home.
 

Robert was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick to parents Bliss Spencer and Wilma (Stewart). He attended high school at UMRHS in Boiestown, and obtained a college degree as a Civil Engineering Technologist from NBCC Moncton.

Robert’s passing was preceded by that of his brother, Ronnie Spencer, and their mother Wilma, and he is survived by his wife Wendy (Banks), as well as their children Alexa, and her partner Arthur Taylor, and Patrick, and his partner Michelle Paquin, and his “best friend”, Rocco. Robert also gained an unexpected sister, Kathy Reid, who had been adopted before Robert was born, but reunited with Robert and family in May 2019.

Robert was an avid world traveler who, along with his wife, Wendy, had enjoyed many adventures across Europe and North America. Robert also enjoyed attending sporting events, and watching televised games (mainly the Bruins and the Patriots) at home with friends and family, amidst his extensive collection of memorabilia and souvenirs from his travels.

Robert was a valued leader and cherished co-worker at EXP, where he served as a senior civil engineering technologist, and was even more beloved in his roles of mentor and friend to his long-standing work family.

The Spencer Family will be holding a Celebration of Life ceremony through York Funeral Home in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 2 PM. The family asks that any donations in Robert’s name be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We will all miss Robert’s heartfelt and boisterous laugh, but his infamous snoring like a chainsaw, much less so!
