Obituary of Shirley Marie Calhoun

The passing of Shirley Marie Calhoun, wife of the late Vincent Calhoun of New Bandon, NB, occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.  Born on June 1, 1937 in McNamee, NB, she was the daughter of the late James and Amy (Calhoun) Dudley. Shirley was a member of McNamee Pentecostal Assembly. 

Shirley is survived by daughters, Laura Mae Long (Bonner) of Porter Cove, Kimberley Carr of Fredericton, Gale Amos (Greg) of New Bandon; sons, Mel Calhoun (Pam) of Fredericton, Gerald Calhoun (Donna) of Fredericton, Brent Calhoun (Rhonda) of Barrie, Allan Calhoun (Carla) of the Netherlands; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jenona Dudley (Ross Smythe) of Fredericton; brothers, Waldo Dudley (Cheryl) of McNamee, Vaughn Dudley (Cheryl) of McNamee, James Dudley (Daisy) of New Denmark, Glendon Dudley (June) of Fredericton.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant son, Robert Calhoun; son-in-law, Dail Carr; brothers; Allan and Alton Dudley; sisters-in-law, Doris Dudley and Bertha Dudley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. Visitation will take place at McNamee Pentecostal Assembly, 287 McNamee Road, McNamee on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 4-7 pm.  A Funeral Service will be held from McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 1 pm.  Interment will be in McNamee Pentecostal Cemetery, Porter Cove. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Northeast Christian College, McNamee Pentecostal Assembly or Life Church (Barrie Ontario).  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
