Quentin & Carol are so sad at the loss of Melanie and the strain it will place on this family. We also know that GOD is Almighty and we will all have the ability to see her again. While we are all feeling pain, feel good that she is able to be in Jesus' arms now.

One of the memories I have of Melanie was when she was walking by the school last summer and she didn't have any shoes on. I asked what had happened? She said, "Remember when JT threw his shoes in the pond, on a school trip". I said, "I said yes". She responded, "Well, we were walking across the train bridge and he through his shoes in the water". We had a good laugh because JT can be so fast and honestly by the time, he does something it is usually too late. This small act of kindness demonstrated how much she loved JT and that she always put his cares first.

I worked with Melanie and she had a great work ethic, she cared so much about doing well and improving. Melanie was a friend too and I will miss her very much. She cared deeply about her family and spoke of them often.
My condolences to Michael and JT.

I worked with Melanie at Atelka for a few years. She was truly such a great person to be around every day, so kind with a heart of gold. She talked about her son JT and husband Michael all the time, you could just feel how much she loved them. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones. Melanie until we meet again my friend, you will be missed and thought of often!

*A FRIEND
By Jennifer Ruth
A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WE TURN TO WHEN OUR SPIRITS NEED A LIFT.
-Melanie was that. If you were down, she'd lift you up. If there was drama, she was the fixer. No matter what the issue was, Melanie was always there to see it through and LIFE YOU UP.
A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WE TREASURE FOR OUR FRIENDSHIP IS A GIFT.
- As young women entering a new environment, Melanie was a treasure because she would just walk up, wide smile, beautiful dark curly hair, and start talking to you and when that talk was over, you felt treasured becuase she had just gifted her time to care for you. The was no effort for her becuase it was her nature to embrace and welcome anyone who felt like an outsider, outcast, different, shy, lonely or just someone who really needed a friend. Everyone she met was her friend.
A FRIEND IS SOMEONE WHO FILLS OUR LIVES WITH BEAUTY, JOY, AND GRACE.
-This she certainly did. She lived up to her middle name "Joy" by bringing laughter to every situation that faced her. She was also very graceful, especially when it came to taking her picture (she wouldn't hesitiate to flip you the bird followed by a giant smile and mischievieness in her eyes). If you cried, she hugged you, if you hurt, she loved you, she prayed for you and she would fight for you with all the fire of the sun if that's what it took to have your back. She loved you forever and she never forgot those who loved her back. W
A FRIEND MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD WE LIVE IN A BETTER AND HAPPIER PLACE.
-Melanie completed our trio and as time passed by our trio grew and grew and grew. And she did leave this world a better and happier place and a piece of her will live on in her beautiful son JT, whom she adored with all her heart. She wanted to be a mom her whole life and even though we got older, and our children got older, we were all very ecstatic to hear that she was finally going to get her wish. She loved her son, as you all must know, he knew he was loved. It was impossible to not feel loved by Melanie and it was also not impossible not to notice when you got on her bad side. In the end, we always beat her at Monopoly, but she did great in school, was an amazing dancer, could do your hair and make up and pick out your outfit all in one sitting. She was perfect. She was the perfect soul who graced us for, what seems to us, a very short time. But she accomplished so much in her life.
SHE WAS FIRST A DAUGHTER, A SISTER, A BEST FRIEND, A WIFE AND AT LONG LAST, A MOTHER.
- She accomplished every goal she ever had. She was a great daughter, always brining love and laughter to her Mom and Dad. As a sister, she came along a little later, so we only knew her siblings by word of mouth and she really loved her nieces and nephews.
SHE LOVED HER FAMILY
-Melanie talked often of her husband and their life. She'd share her stories of her warm life in Arizona and I'll never forget how excited she was when she finally got her hands on a Mercedes Benz. One off her bucket list. Her and Michael made several moves. The closest she came was her move to Colerado. She followed that move by going on Jennifer's dream tour of the Stanley Hotel, the braintree of Stephen King's, The Shining, which was Jennifer's favourite author. She loved to tease and Melanie loved to tease us about possibly moving back home to Canada and finally, after 30+ years of begging, letter writing, very expensive phone calls, we finally got her back. We had so many plans, in fact, we had just had a 3-way talk prior to Jennifer leaving the country for the winter, and in that call we were planning our long-overdue girl's trip. We talked about it, but this is life, and we all know that plans change quickly and as always, our trio was fluid and we could manage anything, but this.
I KNOW THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO SAY ABOUT MELANIE. SHE WAS NOT LOW KEY, SHE LIT UP A ROOM AND LIT UP THOSE AROUND HER AND HER LOSS HAS BEEN FELT LIKE A SOUL CRUSHING PUNCH TO THE GUT. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER PERSON LIKE HER. SHE WAS 100% ONE OF A KIND AND WE ARE ALL BROKEN HEARTED. WE HAD PLANS TO GROW UP AND BE OLD LADIES IN A SENIORS HOME MAKING FUN OF OTHER OLD PEOPLE AND WE WILL STILL CARRY ON THAT PLAN WITH HER LOVE AND ESSENCE IN OUR HEART. SHE WILL BE WITH US AS WE LAUGH, CRY, SOB, EMBRACE AND SHE WILL SMILE AND SAY, "I'm ok. You can do this." THAT WAS HER WAY. IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS AND DESPAIR, SHE COULD FILL THAT DARK TUNNEL WITH THE LIGHT YOU NEEDED TO GET TO THE END, AND IF YOU DIDN'T DO IT YOURSELF, SHE'D FORCE YOU TO.
WE LOVED MELANIE SO MUCH. I LOVED MELANIE SO MUCH. AS PEOPLE, WE ALWAYS BELIEVE WE HAVE MORE TIME, BUT IN REALITY, THIS LIFE IS SHORT AND TEMPORARY AND WE MUST CARRY ON BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MELANIE WOULD DO. WITH THAT SAID, I'M STILL GOING TO CRY, AND SOB AND MISS HER SO VERY MUCH AND IN HER LOVING MEMORY, I'M GOING TO LOVE HARDER AND STRONGER AND IN TIME, WE WILL BE ABLE TO FIND SOME KIND OF GLUE TO HOLD US TOGETHER, BUT NOTHING WILL EVER, COULD EVER, REPLACE HER. WE LOVE YOU. WE MISS YOU AND YOU LIVE ON IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER IN THIS LIFE UNTIL WE COME TOGETHER IN THE NEXT.

Hello Mike. Ivan and I are so, so sorry to hear about your loss. A big shock to everyone for sure. We have fond memories of you, Melanie and JT at Gentle Shepherd. I remember that you folks were part of our “small group” Bible Study and we met at our dear friends home. JT was a cute, little baby. He was content on a blanket on the floor or napping with you or Melanie. Remember the wide ranging discussions we had which went far beyond that week’s Bible Study, especially at coffee time. We were a close little group. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. May God be with you.

I was absolutely shocked to hear of Melanie's passing. She and I first met in elementary school and hung around with a special group of people (Kathy, Jennifer and Sheila) until she moved to Arizona until Grade 10. Unfortunately, we have lost touch over the past few years, but I remember all the good times we've shared fondly. My sympathies go out to Michael, JT and their families. She will remain in my thoughts and prayers and I will see her again.
Love you Melanie and thank you for being my friend. I will never forget you.

Mike and JTI am so shocked to hear of Melanie’s sudden passing. It’s been quite awhile since I’d seen either of you although I did meet her and JT at Costco about 6 months ago. I remember how surprised and happy you both and Melanie’s mother were to know you were going to have a New Brunswick baby. We happy for you too. And when he was born, he was your true Miracle.
Melanie’s love for you and JT were so evident. She will be so missed. May your strong faith and the love and support of family and friends help you at this sad times. All of your good memories will keep Melanie alive in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew her. RIP Melanie. May God abundantly bless your loving family.

You will forever be in my heart and soul and you will never be far from my heart. Watch over us until we meet again and when you can, send love and your spirit. You’re infectious love for life lead me through the darkest moments of my life and I will light a candle for you everyday.
