I have known Lorne for some 50 years. I grew up with his family. I have hunted, fished and celebrated with him. The one thought that comes to mind when I think of him was his ability to articulate words to express his displeasure about how the every day hard working man was overlooked by the system. I will miss his passion, wisdom and resolve. I have lost a very special friend. I hope that I can live up to his standards as I grow older.
Cheers Bud
Kirby.

Farewell our friend of 40 years, and oh what merroirs we have of them, my working with you at Transport Canada, our times golfing, fishing and hunting and being brother masons.
Your commitment to civil aviation and the changes you brought to it has been outstanding and you was always very fair in applying those rules and regulations to the aviation industry and you will be remembered for it as all good men are for their actions.
Rest in peace Lorne.

Sorry to hear of the passing. I worked with Lorne over the years as an AME at Dunphy Airstrip and had several memorable dealings with him at Transport.
His passion was airplanes and fishing on the Miramichi, I would have to say the latter was his favourite.
See you in the pattern!

Condolences to the Amos family:
As 16 year olds we entered the RCEME soldier Apprentice Program in Kingston ON and throughout our lives, worked in Army aviation, and then on the civil side until retirement from Transport Canada in the nineties. Throughout his time in the industry, Lorne led, mentored, and influenced. He earned respect from this peers and was a driving force behind many industry associations and civic groups in Atlantic Canada. Mostly, Lorne will be remembered for being good-hearted and for his giving nature. Always with a smile or a scowl, Lorne gave a hundred percent and left his mark. He will be missed. RIP good friend. From Roger and Gerry Beebe. Gerry and I have known Lorne for many years. Always enjoyed his company and his zest for life. Lorne was a big part of my aviation career. He was the life of the party at the many aviation-related events we attended here and abroad. We can recall one special trip to the old town of San Diego. Gerry and I had a great time there with Lorne. He will be missed by all. Roger and Gerry, Alberta.

To Rhonda and Lorne’s entire family, from Sadie and Glen Cooper. Sincere condolences. I (Glen) am a former co-worker and long time friend of Lorne’s. So sad to hear of his passing. You always knew where you stood with Lorne. To the point and upfront with all. That was Lorne. Such humour. Such wit. Terrific gentleman that was so well respected by his Transport Canada co-workers, and as well by the aviation community in general. Lorne will be fondly remembered by many folk. Godspeed my friend . . .

I first met Lorne around 1986 while we were both fishing at Murray Hovey Front in Ludlow. We had a great say and I found him to be such a personable Man. We had numerous social encounters afterwards while I still resided in the Upper Miramichi. Lorne was a true Gentleman and a valued Member of the Communities where he resided. Rest in Peace my good Friend.
