Obituary of Flora Myrtle Doak

The passing of Flora “Myrtle” Doak of McGivney, NB, wife of the late David Doak, occurred on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on June 17, 1924 in St. Stephen, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (McConvey) Collins. 

 

Myrtle is survived by her son, David (Donna); daughters, Wendy Basile and Debbie Calhoun; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; son in law, Dave Boyer; daughters in law, Donna Doak and Rose Doak; special sister, Bertha Collins; and several nieces and nephews.  Myrtle was the last member of her immediate family.    

 

Besides her husband and parents, Myrtle was predeceased by her sons, Lawrence, Freeman, Derald, Bernie and Aubrey Doak; daughter, Lois Boyer; two great grandchildren; son in law, Maurice Calhoun; and siblings, Lawrence, Vernard, Cecil, William, Jackie, Jeannie, Elva, Thelma and Shirley. 

 

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 10-12:30 pm; followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm with Rev. Pat McAloon officiating.  The service will also be available at www.yorkfh.com.  Interment will take place in McGivney Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the McGivney Cemetery, Fredericton Food Bank or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
