Obituary of Nina Armista Griffiths
It is with great sadness that the family of Nina Armista
She married the late Irvine Griffiths in 1952 and raised their seven children together in Burtt’s Corner. Nina is survived by her children, Carol Lawson (Melvin) of Saint John, Nancy England (Everett) of Royal Road, Paul Griffiths (Rose), Wayne Griffiths (Rejane), Kelly Smith (Todd), Patsy Cullins (Kirk) all of Burtt’s Corner. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Kathy Blaxland and several brothers and sisters
Nina worked as a Telephone Operator for NB Telephone in
Nina was a natural born storyteller and loved to tell stories. In 2011 she collaborated with the Keswick Valley Laubach Literacy Council and included her story in a book entitled “In My Day Too”. Nina was a member of the Kingsley-Birdton Pastoral Charge, a life member of the Kingsley United Church Women, a member of the Burtt’s Corner Seniors Group, a member of the Women’s Progressive Conservative Association, and a faithful volunteer for the
Nina was most proud of her large family and always found a way to stay connected and in touch with everyone. She was always a loving and kind grandmother and role model to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved to brag about them to all. She enjoyed entertaining and friends and family always felt welcome to visit anytime day or night and share a cup of tea and homemade goodies in her warm and welcoming kitchen.
