Obituary of Evgeny Mednikov

The passing of Evgeny Mednikov of Fredericton, New Brunswick, occurred on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer.

 

Born on June 12, 1980, in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, he was the son of Igor and Vera (Sakova) Mednikov. Evgeny lived in Israel for many years before later immigrating to Canada, where he settled in Fredericton. He worked as a truck driver and was known for his strong work ethic and independent nature.

 

Evgeny’s passing is mourned by his family and friends both here and abroad. Though distance separated them in recent years, he remained an important part of their lives.
