Forever Remembered, Never Forgotten ..
Wilfred “Junior” Joseph Poirier
February 27, 1965 – February 16, 2026
It is with heavy hearts our family announces the sudden passing of Wilfred J. Poirier of Durham Bridge, New Brunswick on February 16, 2026, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 27, 1965, in Chatham, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Annette (Russell) Dignard and George Dignard.
Those left to mourn his loss are his loving wife of 42 years, Dolores Mary Poirier (Landry); his children, Nicole Lynn (Ron) of Fredericton, Matthew Allen (Erin) of Fredericton and Lacy Rae (Rene) of Fredericton; his siblings, Dennis (Tammy), Jeanne (Jeffrey), Gacline, Joanne (Gerald) and many step siblings; he will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Madison (Tony) Austin (Chloe), Luca, Asher, Kaleigh; his great grandchildren, Aubrey and Tony and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Wilfred leaves this world to join his parents, Annette and George Dignard and his grandson, Hayden.
Wilfred devoted many years to his work as a Blaster at York Steel before pursuing his true passion as a fisherman, a calling that brought him great pride and fulfillment.
Thanks to the palliative care unit at the DECH for such great care.
To honor Junior’s memory, a Memorial Service will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 2p.m. Pastor Chris Bennett to officiate service.
Donations, in his memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Transplant Canada.
