Obituary of Annis Marguarite Sharpe

It is with great sadness that the family of Annis Marguarite Sharpe of Scotch Settlement, NB would like to announce her passing on February 7, 2026 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief illness. She is the daughter of Albert & Violet Yerxa. She married the love of her life Elwood Storey Sharpe in 1962. They spent 61 years together.

Annis worked at the NB Telephone office in her early years. She then became a stay at home Mom of her three children who were the pride of her life. She was a Sunday School teacher & Pioneer Girls Club leader at the Mactaquac Baptist Church. Once her family was grown, she would sit with sick people in their homes. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great pride in her quilting, sewing, knitting & crocheting various items for them over the years.

Annis is survived by her children, Robin (Angie) Sharpe, Philip (Lisa) Sharpe and Carol (John) Jones; grandchildren, Robert (Katie) Sharpe, Emily Sharpe, Jacob Miller, Stephanie (Aaron) Mead and Joshua Sharpe (Mackenzie); great grandchildren, Stella Sharpe, Owen Sharpe, Schala Mead & Willow Miller; and sister, Marie (John) MacPhee.

Besides her parents Annis was predeceased by her husband, Elwood; daughter-in-law, Kim Sharpe; grandson, Matthew Jones;  brothers, Dellas and Dan Yerxa; and sister, Sylvia Sharpe.

Visitation will take place from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 2-4 pm. The Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2 pm with Rev. Eric MacKinnon and Rev. Peter Beckwith officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the Scotch Settlement Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Lung Association, Autism Connections or to a charity of the donor’s choice. We wish to extend our thanks to the nurses & doctors of the Emergency Department & ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for their care & compassion.
