Obituary of Brenda Lee McKinney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brenda Lee (Mann) McKinney, who left this world peacefully on November 1 , 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 2, 1952, in Tide Head, New Brunswick, Brenda was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep commitment to her family.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Terry McKinney, who she married in 1973 and shared 43 loving years together until his passing in 2016. She was also preceded by her father, Robert Mann, her mother, Christine (Irvine) Mann, and siblings, Joyce Kierstead, Art Kierstead, Grace Fitzgerald, Dawn Gallie, Robert Kierstead, Bonnie Banks and Randy Mann.

Brenda is survived by her two loving daughters, Shelley McKinney and Melissa McKinney (Joey), grandsons, Jacob and Owen Warman and great-granddaughter, Lorelai. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Crozier, brother in law, Rick McKinney (Leah), sisters in law, Judy McKinney, Marilyn McKinney (Liz), Cathy Douthwright (Brian) and Paulette Foreman (Bob), special nieces, Darci Arch and Darlene Theriault, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Brenda's warm heart and kind nature defined her, as she was known for her giving ways and her ability to make others feel loved and accepted. Family was immensely important to her, and her legacy will continue through the memories she created with those she held dear.

In celebration of Brenda's life, a gathering will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025 between 5 and 8 pm at the Hanwell Community Centre, 5 Nature Park Drive, Hanwell, NB. We will honor the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared with us all.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Muscular Dystrophy Canada may be made in her honour. This organization supported Brenda throughout her journey with the illness, and contributions will help continue their vital work for others facing similar challenges.
