Obituary of Jean Marie Gould

The family of Jean Marie (LeClair) Gould of Fredericton, NB, long term partner of the late Darrell Bubar, announces her sudden passing at her home on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Born in Tracadie, NB, on June 30, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Abraham Joseph and Clara Marie (Richard) LeClair.

Jean is survived by her son, Darren Gould; daughter, Tracy Jewett; grandchildren, Ryan, Tristan, Kendra Anne, and Bradford; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Hailey, Hannah, and Tianna; brother, Ben Driscoll (Ruth); sisters, Leona Chapman (Ronald) and Catherine Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Alvina Driscoll and Obeline Thibideau (late Frank Thibideau), and sister-in-law, Emma Driscoll.

Jean worked for many years as a custodian in apartment complexes and was known for her hard work and friendly nature. She enjoyed doing puzzles, many of which proudly adorned the walls of her building’s common room. She also liked baking, walking, swimming, and visiting Tim Hortons to spend time with friends. Jean enjoyed talking and laughing with her neighbours on Terrence Street and will be remembered for her kindness and down-to-earth personality.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Angela, Jean’s devoted long-term caregiver, for her exceptional kindness, compassion, and care throughout the years.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will take place in Nashwaak Centennial United Church Cemetery.
