Coy, Edwin “Laurie” Lawrence

E. Lawrence Coy “Laurie” of Fredericton, NB, peacefully passed away with his wife by his side on October 21, 2025 at Medley Hall, Shannex.  He was born on March 8, 1933, in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Alice V. (Armstrong) and Edwin G. Coy. Laurie retired from The City of Fredericton and spent twenty winters in Florida with his wife Kaye. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, many sports, family and friends.

Laurie is survived by his loving wife, Katherine “Kaye” Coy (Patterson); son, David Hopey; grandson, Nicholas Hopey; sister, Evelyn Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Noel; daughter-in-law, Coleen Hopey; and brother-in-law, Darrell Seymour.

Thanks to the nurses and staff at Medley Hall the last couple of years for taking great care of Laurie.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place at Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
