Forever Loved, Never Forgotten ...

Winston “Dale” Gallagher

February 13, 1943 - August 21, 2025

The family announces with deep love the passing of Winston “Dale” Gallagher, a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on February 13, 1943, Dale passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. He was the cherished son of Ottie and Vera (Morehouse) Gallagher.

Dale was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlina, and we take comfort in knowing the two of them are now reunited, sharing the hugs and smiles that meant so much in their life together. He was also predeceased by his sister, Marie, and her husband, Fred Merrithew.

He leaves behind his sister Mae (Ronald) Goold; his children Rick (Lynn) Gallagher, Trish (Des) Dupuis, and Martina Gallagher (Eric Myers); his grandchildren Megan, Chase (Miranda), Ashlyn (Jesse), Devin, Alanna (Kris), and Fallon (Austin); and his great-grandchildren Jayke, Jaxon, Brooks, Oliver, Ayla, Kohen, Winston, Boden, Liam, and Evie—each of whom he loved dearly.

To his family, Dale was more than the roles he held; he had a gift for lifting spirits, making people laugh, and turning ordinary days into memories that will never fade. Whether it was a hug, a story, or one of his quick jokes, he had a way of making you feel cared for.

He held a special place in the hearts of his great-grandchildren. From playing around and dancing in the living room, to FaceTime calls filled with laughter, he always found a way to make each of them feel special.

Dale worked hard throughout his life, spending many years in Fredericton’s printing industry and later working in security. His happiest moments weren’t found at work—they were in the everyday joys he cherished. He loved visiting with his best friend Jack Brandwood, mowing his lawn on his tractor (something he took great pride in), and picking up a scratch ticket each day with the hope that maybe, just maybe, it would be “the big one.” Dale was also a dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan who never missed a game, cheering them on faithfully year after year. These little routines and passions brought him joy and became part of the rhythm of who he was.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to his daughter Trish for the dedicated care she provided over the past ten years after Mom’s passing. Her support and love have meant so much and is deeply appreciated.

Dale’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and togetherness. He taught us all the importance of enjoying life’s simple pleasures and treasuring time with the people we love. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the stories, the laughter, and the love he leaves behind.

A celebration of Dale’s life will be held at York Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 from 6 - 8p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society. A private graveside service will be held at St. John Anglican Church Cemetery.
