Obituary of William Douglas Rosborough

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William “Bill” Douglas Rosborough passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, at York Care Center.   Bill lived his last few years at York Care.  He loved his caretakers and the other residents who always treated him with such love and respect.  He was born April 10, 1937, in Devon New Brunswick to Alexander and Lillian (Jarvis) Rosborough (both deceased).  He had one older brother George (Buddy) (deceased). Bill also grew up and spent many hours of getting into mischief with his cousin Gerald (Jeddy) Crouse.

He married Violet Alamantha (Morrison) in 1961.  They shared 53 years of marriage until Violet passed away in 2015.  He was a proud father of 4 children. He loved them all and loved to spend time with them.  Trudy Ann Roy (Leonard) Moncton, NB, Vinal Todd Hatto (Wendy) Pokiok, NB, Barbara Joan Harris (Warren “Ted”) and Peter Douglas Rosborough (Louise) Moncton, NB.  He loved his grand kids and always enjoyed their visits.  Kristy Jo (Scott), Amanda (Derek), Jennifer (Fred), Todd, Bradley, Jessica (Jeremy), Brittany (Bence), Michael (Annika) and baby Peter Douglas (deceased).  9 great grandchildren, Riley (Kyra), Eric, Bryden (Alexis), Kiersten, Destiny, Zoe, Grace, Olivia and William.  1 great great grandchild Elliot.

He started his career at the young age of 17 with the Airforce.  He had his aunt sign a paper stating he was of age.  He left the Airforce in his early 20’s and started a long career with NB Power, retiring at 55.  Always enjoyed hunting and fishing on his time off.  He spent a lot of time at his cottage in Juniper with his wife Vie, family and friends.   They both loved to make woodworking crafts.  They spent many Saturdays at yard sales picking up what others considered junk, repurposing them into treasures.

We were taught strong values and the importance of family, hard work, kindness, tolerance, generosity, forgiveness and love.

The last several years have been tough watching Alzheimer’s take piece by piece from this amazing man. He remained positive and never complained about having to leave his home.  He was always pleasant to everyone around him.  We watched him join in and enjoy the events that were offered at York Care Center.

We have peace knowing that he has joined mom in heaven…
