Obituary of Donna Beatrice Murdock

We are saddened to announce the passing of Donna Beatrice Murdock (Estey) on April 25^th, 2025, at Pavillon Neill Hall, Fredericton. She was the daughter of the late Ross and Gladys (Brewer) Estey. Born on December 28^th, 1935 in Zealand. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Murdock.

Donna is survived by her brother Dale (Sheila); sisters-in-law, Maureen Estey (late Eugene), and Amy Estey (late George); and a special great-nephew, Drake Estey; plus, numerous other nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband & parents, Donna was predeceased by her sisters, Georgie Brewer, Doris McGivney, and Anna Estey; her brothers, Eugene, Merle, Russell, and George.

Donna grew up in Kilburn with her dad & stepmom, Glenna, on the family farm. She then moved to Fredericton where she met the love of her life, Bobby. Her later years were spent in Burtts Corner.

For a short time, Donna worked in the UNB kitchen, however she was best known for her role as a “special” aunt & nanny to many of her nieces & nephews, plus great-nieces & nephews, who thought of her as Grammie. Each one held a special place in her heart.

Donna’s favorite pastime was doing word search, she loved knitting, crocheting & reading. She enjoyed many camping trips with her family. Country music was her favorite & she enjoyed going to live concerts with her sisters Georgie & Doris.

Donna had a gentle spirit, who lived a humble quiet life and was appreciative of all that was offered to her. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Twila Estey, Natalie Brewer, and all the staff of Pavillon Neill Hall for their love and concern for Donna.

A memorial service will be held at the Burtts Corner Baptist Church, 1034 Route 104, Burtts Corner, NB, on Saturday, May 3^rd at 2:00 pm. Followed by an interment at the Burtts Corner Cemetery.
