Ricky Reid McGivney
The passing of Rickie Reid McGivney of Nashwaak Village, NB, occurred on April 10th, 2025 at his home. Born on August 31, 1959 in Toronto, Ontario.
He was the son of the late John and Anna “Pauline” (Forbes) McGivney.
Rick is survived by his son, Shane Chiasson of Toronto, ON; daughter, Erika Marchment of Toronto, ON; grandson, Real Chiasson; siblings, Barry Croll of Toronto, ON, Brian McGivney of Douglas, NB, Janet Ann Mason of Calgary, AB and Julie McGivney of Oshawa, ON; and his best friend, Brian McAloon and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Rick was predeceased by his sister, Cheryl and his brother, Johnny.
Rick was a jack of all trades. He mainly loved doing carpentry, was an avid hunter, a connoisseur of Alpine beer and a friend to many.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday, May 10th from 2-4 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. Burial set for a further date. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Fredericton SPCA. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfuneralhome.com
