Obituary of Kimberley Margaret Lockhart

The passing of Kimberley Margaret Lockhart of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Shannex - Thomas Hall. Born on April 26, 1960 in Sussex, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold L. Lockhart and Betty Audrey Agnes (Noakes) Lockhart. 

Kimberley was a graduate of the Fredericton High School and received certificates from the Atlantic Business College here in the City of Fredericton as well as a Nurse's Aide certificate from the University Career Institute, Montreal, PQ. She was self-employed for several years and worked as a home caregiver for children and seniors, as well as working for We Care and York Manor. 

One of Kim’s greatest joys in life was swimming and she adored the Bay of Fundy. She also served as a lifeguard for many years and on one trip abroad, experienced cliff diving in Mexico.

Kimberley is survived by her brothers, Douglas (Marie) Lockhart of Fredericton, NB and Robert (Ruth) Lockhart of Winnipeg, MB; sisters, Maureen (Brian) Walsh of Toronto, ON,  Barbara (late Dennis) Gourley of London, ON, Audrey Lockhart of Ottawa, ON, Betty Gruffydd of Belleville, ON, Kerri (Mario) Beretta of Switzerland, and Colleen (Aurel) Lockhart of Fredericton, NB. Kim always enjoyed following the lives of her many nieces and nephews. 

Besides her parents, Kimberley was predeceased by her sisters, Karen Lousie Lockhart and Jennifer Lockhart as well as brother, Frederick Lockhart.

Kimberley’s family would like to acknowledge the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and the staff at the Shannex - Thomas Hall for their excellent and professional care that she received as a resident during the past 6 years. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 2 – 4 pm. Words of Remembrance will take place at 3 pm with Pastor Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will take place in Kirk Hill Cemetery, Sussex, NB at a later date.
