Obituary of Lorraine G. Nimegeers

Please share a memory of Lorraine G. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sorrow, the family of Lorraine G. Nimegeers (Buckley) of Fredericton, NB, announce her passing on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 5, 1946 in Saint John, NB,  she was the daughter of the late Vincent L. and Bernice F (Connolly) Buckley and wife of George Nimegeers. Lorraine was a very talented artist and enjoyed painting with friends. In her younger years, she was quite the athlete, playing and coaching Ringette. She spent summers at the camp in Grand Lake and enjoyed sailing and skiing with George. Most of the time you could find her in the kitchen, but her biggest job was keeping George in line. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

In addition to her loving husband of 55 years, Lorraine is survived her two children, Thomas Nimegeers (Stephanie) and Kathryn Nimegeers both of Fredericton, NB and her two grandchildren, Brady Nimegeers and Colsen Nimegeers; siblings, Robert Buckley (late Barbara), Marlene Brewer (Mahlon) and Patrick Buckley (Shelley) and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by infant brother, Daniel Lloyd Buckley.

Lorraine's husband, George, would like to express a special thank you to Marlene Brewer and Jane Buckley for all of their help and compassion during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 603 Union Street, Fredericton, NB on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11 am with the Funeral Mass at 12 pm and a Reception to follow at 1 pm.
