Obituary of Rick Munn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Gordon Munn on March 23, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB.  He was born on May 27, 1946 and lived his whole life in Taxis River, NB. He was the son of the late Edward and Myrtle (Stewart) Munn.

In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by an infant brother, Gene Munn; sister, Vera Munn; brothers in-law, Ray and Gladwin Norrad.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Patricia “Pat” (Hinchey) Munn; children, Tanya (Troy), Ricky, Adam, Emma (Mylene), and chosen daughter, Sarah; grandchildren, Jodee (David) of Kingston, ON, Kristopher (Kelly), Kyle; great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Jaxon, Isaac, Lucas, Sohpia, Amelia, EJ and his special little Princess/side-kick, Malayah; granddog, Loki; siblings, June (Arnold) McKay of Creston, BC, Gary Munn (Vivian Barry), Marilyn (Stafford) Munn, Susan Norrad, Mary (Weldon) Norrad and Marlene (Derrick) Sewell; several in laws, siblings along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rick worked in the woods all of his life and when he wasn’t working you could still find him in the woods and venturing throughout the many acres of land on the family property. When he wasn’t roaming the land, he was always tinkering with something and a loving and patient teacher as he taught his loved ones everything he knew. In his last few years, he spent a majority of his days with his little princess/side-kick Malayah whom he thought the world of. Wherever “Gampie” was, Malayah had to follow.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the 3E Palliative Care Unit staff who took amazing care of our dear loved one.

As per Rick’s wishes, there will be no funeral services held, however, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering at the Boiestown Lions Club from 3 -7 pm Friday, March 28, 2025. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfuneralhome.com
