Obituary of Maridel Ruth Symonds

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maridel Ruth Symonds, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Maridel was born on July 28, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert Harding and Lois MacCallum Harding. She spent her early years in the United States and then moved to Canada after marrying the love of her life Fred Robert Symonds on August 4, 1962. They went on to have many adventures and 5 children.

Maridel will be remembered for her kindness, beautiful singing voice, generous spirit, quiet perseverance, selflessness, creativity and her dedication to and love for her family which she prized above all possessions. When she wasn’t spending time with friends and family she loved to knit, sew, quilt, paint, make jewelery, play card games, watch movies and shows, and find treasures at flea markets and yard sales

She is predeceased by her son, Jarrod Fred and her daughter Natalie Symonds Brown. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Fred Symonds; her children, Robyn Gibson, Clint (Shelly) Symonds and Eva (Michael) Ashworth; her grandchildren, Noah, Alexandra, Cassandra, Jesseca, Matthew, Zachary, Emaleigh, Mea, Rowan and Charlotte; as well as 6 great-grandchildren.

Her celebration of life will be held at Crosspoint Church in Fredericton on March 24 at 1pm. Reception to follow. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
